Business case / Value Added Logistics

Geodis Venlo Logistics Center, a 49,000 m² facility, is the EMEA distribution center for a world leader in printing technology. With a workforce of 250 people (and 500 people in peak times), it provides services ranging from inbound/outbound, warehousing to value added services (kitting and customization of printers). The sub-assemblies are shipped from China to Venlo, where the orders are assembled based on the actual demand of the final customers.

The decision to work with Geodis was largely based on the capability to cope with significant fluctuations of activity and to constantly improve processes and productivity.

The ERP (Entreprise Resource Planning) information system implemented by Geodis provides a complete transparency and visibility on the whole Supply Chain which is a considerable asset for the client. The system optimizes inventory levels, increases order fill rates and manages materials requirements planning.
